Two generations of photographers, each with their own signature style, but united by one shared passion: capturing the soul of music and its icons. In this special, carefully curated exhibition, they bring their work together in a dazzling journey through music history.
Govert de Roos achieved national and international fame with his intimate, often iconic portraits of stars like Prince, Herman Brood, The Sex Pistols, Van Halen, André Hazes, Blondie, Rob de Nijs, and many others. Since the 1970s, he has had a unique ability to capture the atmosphere behind the scenes, on stage, and in the personal lives of artists. His photos are pure and timeless, exactly as he envisioned them.
André Dieterman, himself active in the music scene for many years, captures the new generation of musicians and living legends with a fresh perspective and great respect for tradition. With artists like ZZ Top, DeWolff, Jimmie Vaughan, Triggerfinger, The Cure, Peter Pan Speedrock, and Tim Knol in front of his lens, he is building an impressive body of work in which authenticity is key. His style is distinctive, energetic, and attuned to the moment.
Together, Dieterman and De Roos form a unique combination of experience and fresh energy. Their joint exhibition presents a rich spectrum of musical heroes: from the melancholy of André Hazes to the raw energy of ZZ Top, from the timeless charm of Rob de Nijs to the youthful spirit of Tim Knol. Every image breathes a love for music and photography.
This exhibition is not only a tribute to the musicians themselves, but also to the art of seeing, capturing a fleeting second that lingers for a lifetime.

Twee generaties fotografen, ieder met hun eigen signatuur, maar met één gedeelde passie: het vangen van de ziel van de muziek en haar iconen. In deze bijzondere, zorgvuldig samengestelde expositie brengen zij hun werk samen in een wervelende reis door de muziekgeschiedenis.
Govert de Roos verwierf nationale en internationale faam met zijn intieme, vaak iconische portretten van sterren als Prince, Herman Brood, The Sex Pistols, Van Halen, André Hazes, Blondie, Rob de Nijs en vele anderen. Al sinds de jaren ‘70 weet hij als geen ander de sfeer achter de schermen, op het podium en in het persoonlijke leven van artiesten vast te leggen. Zijn foto’s zijn puur en tijdloos - exact zoals hij ze voor ogen had.
André Dieterman, zelf jarenlang actief in de muziekscene, legt de nieuwe generatie muzikanten en levende legendes vast met een frisse blik en groot respect voor de traditie. Met artiesten als ZZ Top, DeWolff, Jimmie Vaughan, Triggerfinger, The Cure, Peter Pan Speedrock, Tim Knol voor zijn lens, bouwt hij een indrukwekkend oeuvre op waarin authenticiteit centraal staat. Zijn stijl is eigenzinnig, energiek en gevoelig voor het moment.
Samen vormen Dieterman en De Roos een unieke combinatie van ervaring en nieuw elan. Hun gezamenlijke expositie toont een rijke schakering aan muziekhelden: van de melancholiek van André Hazes tot de rauwe energie van ZZ Top, van de tijdloze charme van Rob de Nijs tot de jeugdigheid van Tim Knol. Elk beeld ademt liefde voor muziek en fotografie.
Deze expositie is niet alleen een eerbetoon aan de muzikanten zelf, maar ook aan de kunst van het kijken, het vangen van een seconde die een leven lang blijft hangen.

De expositie is op 6 en 7 september vanaf 11.00 t/m 17.00 uur en te bezichtigen op twee locaties, beide gevestigd in de studio’s van de fotografen zelf.
